Technically, I have a comprehensive understanding of hardware, software, and global network environments and how they interact. I possess strong communication skills to liaise with both technical and non-technical individuals at all levels. I am a result orientated individual, managing my time effectively within tight deadlines and seeing projects through to their maturity.



Interests and activities

I enjoy maintaining a healthy life style playing sports such as football and golf. I visit the park regularly to play with my two daughters. I enjoy listening to a wide variety of music, going to the theatre and cinema, and reading a variety of books and magazines. I like socialising and having visited most of Europe, India and Asia, I have a passion to travel the world and experiencing different cultures with my family.

Consultant
Since 2013 I have been providing technical consultancy and support to a mixture of clients and technologies. Working closely with sales and project management teams, I have provided network support and live configuration changes for networkes used by multiple customers. Duties include Document creation, Network design enhancements and amendments, configuration changes, firmware management, VPN configurations (on the ASA and client devices).

BT Wholesale/Works Systems, Inc / April 2013 - Aug 2014

Technical Migration Consultant and Engineer.
My role was to deliver and execute an end-to-end plan to migrate live customer CPE’s to a new ACS. This involved planning and secluding the upgrade of all ACS’s and the supporting software in a live environment. The secure extraction and transfer of bursts customer data to the new ACS followed synchronised with a live update of the management address on the same customers device. After months of technical testing and perfecting, the project went live in Feb 2014 and ended Aug 2014.

Works Systems, Inc / October 2006 - April 2013

Senior Systems Consultant
Based at home in the UK, my role involved technical project management, pre/post-sales and support in new bids and the development of new and existing business opportunities; demonstrations and documentation; installations (standalone, cluster and cloud based); system management, all Virtual, mainly built on VMWare ESXi, Workstation for linux and Amazon EC2; support (on and off-site) for all accounts in EMEA Region and the USA. This involved direct communication with both the customer and vendors. Carrying out interoperability testing for TR069 and OMA-DM, with multiple CPE vendors (including Netgear, ZyXEL, Thomson/Technicolor, Cisco/Linksys, Ubiquisys, Amstrad, Pace…) using the vendor's pre-installed/created clients and/or the Works Systems client including integration into chipset/firmware, helping to provide end-to-end solutions using the Works Systems ACS and additional Support servers in the cloud. I also managed and administered the companies IP PBX’s and email/web servers outside of the eastern region.

Senior Technical Consultant
Specialised in the following products:
IP DSLAM (ADSL2+ SDSL), VDSL switches (VDSL/VDSL2 QAM / DMT), Ethernet managed and unmanaged switches, Pro WLAN – external wireless backhaul/AP and Pro internal (AP and Hotspots), VoIP Products, SIP based ATA’s IDA’s (w/firewall), Wi-Fi handsets and PBX.

Senior technical support engineer.
Our main responsibilities where to provide train and support 1st/2nd line engineers who answer technical queries from distribution partners and end users. Pre-sale and site surveys was also a large part of the role, this involves joining the product management team and sales staff on site to answer technical questions and advise the customer, based on their needs, on a full solution.

ISP and ILEC/CLEC Support.
As the senior technical / ISP support engineer I worked closely with large UK (and abroad) based telco’s and ISP’s. This involved implementing ZyXEL based 3play solutions, as well as the individual data/VoIP services, on their existing and new networks and training the NOC on troubleshooting.

ZyCamp/ZyPartner technical ZCE and ZCNE Trainer.
Working with colleagues in Taiwan to create and deliver product training material to partners and customers.

Internal support.
Installed and continue to support the office DP installations (LAN, VoIP PBX, mail server, web server, etc..)

Process Management Board - Problem resolution processing.
The purpose of the Problem Resolution Process is to provide timely & accurate resolution for customer issues so that we can communicate, understand & exceed customer expectations. The responsibility of the board is to set the company procedure from the start of the problem, be it planned or unplanned, to the resolution.

Corporate support engineer / internal support / WAN engineer / Provisioning IP Engineer / IP Team leader / Senior IP engineer.
Working in the heart of the NOC, our responsibilities where to oversee and action new high end IP based solutions. Supporting the solution after it is in place, brief in addition to then hand over the customer’s solution to the NOC. Writing documentation for customers, informing them of services they have purchased and the procedure that has been out lined by the process management board. I have also been involved in the following whilst working at Easynet: Configuration of Cisco CPEs and Cisco Catalyst Switches, Configuration of ISDN/ADSL CPEs, Configuration of Watchguard firewall’s, Security Auditing, Firewall Consultancy, LAN/WAN Consultancy, NOC: 3rd Line Support for Major Accounts and SDH network, Building and Supporting Compaq Servers, Ethernet patch panel cabling in POP sites and data centers, Installing and supporting MS Win 98 / NT4 / 2000 and telecommunications network support.
